The Supreme Court today ruled that
the duration in between March 22 and the time when the lockdown would end should be thought about no period for those whose due date for filing or contesting cases or joining court proceedings had actually lapsed.
The grand Complete bench of the apex court making up 19 justices provided the decision in action to petitions filed by advocates Tikaram Bhattarai and Maheshwar Shrestha in the Case and Writ Department of the Supreme Court.
The SC had chosen to halt its non-urgent court proceedings from March 22.
The SC said that those persons who had time to submit case or join court procedures on March 22 ,
will have 30 days & duration disallowing travel time after the lockdown ends to submit or contest cases, or sign up with court procedures in a law court or quasi-judicial bodies.
The court likewise stated if anybody who is expected to object to a case or sign up with court proceedings in 1 month after the end of lockdown, is sent out to quarantine or isolation, then that person can contest his/her case or join court proceedings within 15 days after s/he is launched from quarantine centres or seclusion wards.
